Service Description:

 The 1973 digital orthophoto displays a b/w image covering most of the central parts of the City of Cape Town including CBD, Hout Bay, along Voortrekker Road, Airport, Mitchells Plain and Muizenberg areas. It was processed from 1973 aerial photography at the scale of 1:35000. Due to the fact that parts of the negatives are missing the photography was processed using a combination of scanned negatives and positive contact prints. The digital orthophoto is available in ECW format at 20cm GSD (ground sampling distance). No restrictions on the digital file for non-commercial purposes.
